KC Distance Learning

Flexible, secure, professionally managed space were all focal points of our decision to open offices in the Bloomsburg Regional Technology Center.  We can certainly point to the advantages of the open technology structure that allowed us to establish our technology infrastructure needs, and the physical location of the facility close to down town shops, banks and the park a few blocks away as the great benefits they are.  Additionally, the management team continues to be flexible, being hands-on when needed and hands-off when appropriate.  The whole team at the Columbia Alliance for Economic Growth is open and accessible and willing to help. 

Partnerships.  Our business is very unique for any area of our country.  Private, distance education high schools, are still small in numbers.  Finding a community where very specific partnerships can be built is critical for our success.  We didn’t have to search for that location at all.   In fact, I think our company has played a role in developing our community of forward thinkers.  In particular, I am confident that our company founders helped shape Bloomsburg into the educational progressive hub it is.  Of course, recognizing that hub exists, and nurturing it, is our job today.  The relationship between KCDL and the IIT at Bloomsburg University is great example of how two groups feed into each other’s success.  KCDL provides jobs in the form of positions as well as internships to IIT (and Bloomsburg University students in general).  In return, the IIT offers a talent pool, training, research, business advisors and more.  It isn’t hard to see what would be lost if both groups did not choose to grow our presence here in Bloomsburg.  And, we are grateful for the opportunity to do so. 

The town of Bloomsburg and surrounding Central PA area are home to many talented people who work with KC Distance Learning.  We have had great success in finding talented, energetic and creative business team members in our communities.  Business teams in Bloomsburg include Information Technology, Instruction, Curriculum Development, Call Center, Student Services, Data Processing, Marketing and Promotion, Warehousing and Course Fulfillment, Inventory and Finance. Our teams cover a broad area of expertise requirements, and we found them all right here in Central PA. 

Although still young, we are looking forward to the time when new businesses choose to locate in the BRTC and allow for an even more diverse community.  And, we know that companies working and living together successfully takes effort and time.  In many ways, our team feels this is our opportunity to look forward, just as our founders were in 1974.  We feel we are part of a new wave of business thinking in Bloomsburg.  This thinking includes business leaders sharing experience, sharing talent and sharing opportunities to open new doors.  The facilities and the culture are here to be built and we encourage others to join us.
